And now for something completely different Have fun. The Plot As brooding darkness was filling the woods Under the blackness would survey the goods: A scheming magician; a soldier; a crook. As ‘round the oak table they pondered the book With gleam in their eye — and bent wicked grin Scarred their grim faces and twisted their chin. Glow of the candlelight threw shadows about That danced upon walls and corners would scout Where unknown terrors would harbor and hide; Where power of light and shadows divide. There under cover of hovering night They plotted and schemed the ultimate fright. At last the contract was hammered in seal; The sinister hands then shook on the deal And back into darkness slithered the lot... To finish the deed of their devilish plot. Far in the fields much blood has been bled; On raw jagged edge they impaled King’s head. Beside the road that followed to town Peered two ghostly eyes from under the crown; Two unmoving eyes with icy-cold stare Upon the passerbys affixed their glare. Then from the King’s chambers arouse a scream As King awoke from his nightmarish dream That had been stalking the time of his rest; Where visions of death his soul had possessed. The King then relieved with the waking sight Forgot his plight and was up for a bite — A banquet would suit his royal taste... Thus gave a command with no further haste: To invite from wide and far to a great feast; To slaughter and quarter many a beast... As all were gathered in the great Hall Awaiting fine feast and much grander ball; There, among visitors, at distant look — Seated were magician; a soldier; a crook. CG |

Ahhhhh yes, this is quite good. The mystery of a magician, soldier and crook.... And in the night of horrid fiends beyond the light of shadows nigh A king arises, his murder he gleaned and from his lips a moan did cry. For in the hall of banquet fiest three travelers waited to see the pale of face upon the man whose retched realm they sought to free. A realm of greed, death and deceit A realm of tricks, lying and screams A realm of torture, of defeat as the blood of foes freely streams. And as the clock did slowly tick toward the strike of midnight high. Three wicked souls did quietly pick from crystal plates a tongue and eye. For when the king did again wake upon the morn before the rise. He had no sight and could not make a scream, two signs of his demise. Very good CG...I enjoyed..... |

Thank you everyone, so much. I am glad you enjoyed it, for I had great fun writing it. Sue - you are correct, I am a great fan of British comedy (Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Benny Hill, Mr. Bean..etc.) Susan - frankly, I hadn't thought about Part 2 -- now I might... Magnus - thank you, enjoyed the condiments... CG |
