Wherein Lie The Casualties When was that we learned to swallow pride like a nasty rumor and cast aside all hope like wishes when did our differences become as irreconcilable as death or your fabrications sit much more smoothly than the fact I tried to cloak our love blanketing it with passion in a clever disguise for affection confessing my sins to you as you shed your vestments but even you could not grant me absolution I slowly watched life (love) unravel like bandages as we hid our lies behind gossamer veils of gentility until even those lines (lies) were crossed and in the end we waged war against each other and truth became the first causality I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S |

Ruth "we waged war against each other and truth became the first causality" I see much of truth in this poem...so sad how we humans hurt eachother! |

hoot, "Grace under pressure" comes to mind when I read this almost analytical rendering of romance gone wrong. Wonderful write. Doc |
