And there I sit, watching tv Hurricanes are rolling in front of me They speak of damage, rather bad I hardly heard what was said Because I see the land it hit Remembering all the laughs and wit Of all the friends I met overthere Very good friends who love and care How useless I'm feeling sitting here When overthere is sorrow and fear Fear of wind turned into a rage Bursting out it's natural cage Then they're reporting 'We're ok' Brighter and brighter is getting my day And when I'm writing this here rhyme My email knocked and just in time There's a message from Margie dear 'Safe and Sound, but Charley kicked some butts overhere' I don't know wich way Charley went How far it was raging over the land I'm missing reports from Cape Cod and Philly Hope you're not thinking I am silly Nan, is the house I never saw still there? Helen, I'm proud of you the way you care Hope you got some sleep at last In the quietness of the after blast Don't care if my grammar isn't right I just want to hug my friends real tight Like scattered leaves...my words will flow [This message has been edited by Titia Geertman (08-17-2004 04:08 AM).] |

Titia, I am so glad you wrote this nice poetry because I've been wondering about PIP friends I know live in the areas the hurricane struck. This answers some of the concerns I've had. Thanks.  ....jo |
