August Nature has concurred an imposing self, a “most unusual” time for this year ~ infamous, abundant, impressively oppressive temperatures, high one week, (feel those three digits) then, with quicksilver temperance, becoming uncommonly dignified in marrying September to October, utterly noble with a majesty all its own then crowns itself, rightly so, August. Nature, oh, such a grand lady, she will beat us or treat us, trick our senses, our eyes, our skin, leave us gasping, if we breath but a moment, for She is craftily showing us circles where there are none, letting one imagine a touch of kiss…see leaves touching leaves, tree limbs reach in embrace, even as each are banked away from one another, as shadows play a glide along song, while highs pull up lows, and still, still, rivers run, to reach skies ostensibly blue. Somehow, nature touches core, rivers evaporate, giving sky clouds, heaven itself reflected in a stream, and I? I find myself staring at circles, seeing focused points, centering there, smack dab in the middle of all that is right. Somehow, Eros’ arrow found my heart. Very nice. You've dressed August up well. Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

"Somehow, nature touches core, rivers evaporate, giving sky clouds, heaven itself reflected in a stream, and I?I find myself staring at circles, seeing focused points, centering there, smack dab in the middle of all that is right." Absolutely wondering description of this time of this year and how unpredictable nature is. I loved this last part where you are so focused and centered right in the middle of nature. You do have a real knack when it comes to writing about Mother Earth, Karilea! .....jo |

A funny month is August, The one named for a ruler. It zooms from hot to cold, You think it can't be crueler. But look ye at crepe myrtle That blooms quite out of line. It doesn't know when spring is, Its flowers show so fine. Great tribute to a fine month. KJ Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |
