Some people live the life we dream With nothing more than me Their vision, one of life itself Their passion to be free But I seem so short sighted For often I’m too scared To throw away my habits And see what God prepared For there must be things waiting But one must chance to find The happiness that’s in the world And not just in the mind For walls grow all so quickly Which we feel we can’t scale And hopes can quickly vanish by When last tries seem to fail But onward we must march and seek And listen to our voice For all our goods and all the bads Do pivot on our choice So let us find that piece of strength That ride to what we seek Where all our pains and inner thoughts Can rest to finally speak May we find the strength of will and happiness |

I do truly think life is supposed to be an adventure. Reminds me of Frodo and Sam of the Fellowship of the Ring where Sam says if he takes one more step, he'll be further away from home than he's ever been. If this poem reflects yourself, then I hope you take that one step that Sam did.  |

Hiya Rick, wonderful write I've always been a nomad of sorts, always ready to up and move...the excitement, adventure, the challenge of not knowing what comes next, and the practice of loosing control, sheding conditioning and embracing another culture, even if only in the next state....teeheee...but the point is, life can be and is meant to be a vacation...think of it that way, with enthusiasum, and the fears go away... Fears are just another way of restricing ourselves...this ugly little wicked voice inside keeps telling us...it's not ok to be happy or have a good time....and we've got to run around telling all our family and friends to gain their approval...then, the next thing you know, someone who fears, is going to tell us it's not a good thing to do...but guess what, it's what we were listening to all the time, isn't it. The heck with other people, the heck with fears...shake it, box it up and throw away the keys...life is...right here and now, and thats the only guarentee we're going to get. Anyway, those are the thoughts your beautiful poem provoked within...smiles and hugs...good ta see ya Rick.  |
