Please Father, heal this aching child that hides within the bowel of me. The one so meek and never wild that cries so hard to just be free. An ache does climb within my chest and sits atop the throne of mind. Tired now father, I wish to rest that I might see, and be not blind. A heart does heal most slow inside where words still ring the naked ear. They charge around as I just hide and wish to calm this chiding fear. Oh dear father, I beg of thee to soar the winds and sail the seas. To hear the echo wand’ring near and skate on bruised, bended knees. The names I heard, I hear again as words are seen and felt so hard. I know I am more, a strong man yet still I dredge and keep my guard. I’ve grown from my trials and sadness, from losses, death, fear and my shame. I’ll teach my children compassion and to love each other and not blame. For words do break a tender heart and bring to eyes those flowing tears. They tear a young lad’s soul apart ...ages of anguish beyond those years... |

Magnus~ 'I’ve grown from my trials and sadness, from losses, death, fear and my shame. I’ll teach my children compassion and to love each other and not blame' Oh, my friend ... this is poignant penning~ That every abused child could foster such goals would be ... such a blessing~ Doesn't often happen that way ... but we can pray~ *Huglets* ![]() ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Yes Marge, we can pray...Abuse comes upon a child in so many forms...whether from an adult or another child. For children can be so cruel of other children. Like they say.. "Kill me with kindness"... a goal I often wished for. Words do hurt too often for so many. |

"The names I heard, I hear again as words are seen and felt so hard. I know I am more, a strong man yet still I dredge and keep my guard." BJ, it seems like the most tenderhearted of people are always abused. To remain tenderhearted takes the strongest of souls. Very touching poem....and I still don't have any tissue. ![]() |

Jo, thank you...yes, very true. And I will send tissues as soon as I know what part of the 87 guzillion square miles of Texas I have to get Fedex to deliver them to... BJ |

Barry, My heart, it is touched. The pain felt by a child, the sufferings of children, these are things that I find the most difficult to bear. Having walked in such shoes, though loved well by my father and mother, I would wish such anguish on none, and know too many who suffer. Would that love could pour forth from our hearts and move the world to compassion. Sometimes I think that having suffered the sorrows as a youth, it makes being a parent that much more difficult for the pain your own child suffers can be almost more excrutiaiting for you as parent than for they . . . does this make sense. I agree that to grow beyond your wounds and remain tender and loving, this is a great accomplishement and speaks well of the soul. Hugs to you ![]() Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

This hit home, my friend. Today my "best friend" told me that the man I love doesn't love me. I can feel the pain in this one. Touching write, as always. *Allison* ~~~***~~~Come away with me, Wendy. Come away to Neverland~~~***~~~ |

"For words do break a tender heart Such strength, power and self-renewal in your ability to be vulnerable in expression, and as much as you describe the toxicity of some words, your words exert such healing force....Thank you ~P |

A heart does heal most slow inside where words still ring the naked ear. They charge around as I just hide and wish to calm this chiding fear Dearest Poet, this beautiful prayer held me close, as it's a place we've all been... I believe God gives us choice, even in what we believe, how long we hold close fear, it's all our composition, my friend, we are as we believe and live...what we see and feel, and if we hold onto fear and all negative things, I believe we hinder the purpose of our being, making our journey a little longer...forgiveness is complete freedom...and a new beginning for our souls to float within some great knowledge. Absolutely beautiful writing sir. |

Barry, dear man...this really touched me. "I’ve grown from my trials and sadness, from losses, death, fear and my shame. I’ll teach my children compassion and to love each other and not blame." Sometimes I wish there was an easier way to grow...but I've learned that the hardest way is the best teacher. Sounds like you have too. ![]() |
