The Air of Love |

When the moon is full and the wind drops to still and the trees stand somber and dark, my heart cries in vain for the bearer of pain unable to carry the weight of despair to the sea of a mere happening. But a happening folds the contours of soul into a bundle of woe and twists the fibers of inner resolve till inert we lie on the floor betwixt and between the then and the now like a baby before its first cry. And it pays to remember no angel with wings sings happiness to the deprived or lands a cent, a dollar, or more into the hands of the poor. There are no angels or goblins and gnomes in the wings waiting to sing until the burden from shoulders is dropped and we freely can bend to retrieve a sea shell. With feet on the sand and sea shell in hand I watch how the sea rolls to shore and brings back again in memory bags the weight of a human’s despair. Of memory then it flows evermore like a river down to the sea till love in the air stirs up a breeze and blows all the pain away. I turn from the sea and look into the air in my need to be weightless and free for air, like love, unseen has the power to uplift the burdens from spirit and flesh. The air of love; how softly it blows to make me believe it’s not even here! |

Thank you, Enchantress, for the read. I hope you can carry into your "today" the thought that perhaps there's more in the air than we can believe. It seems like that to me now just past the midnight hour here. |

Helen There are things that we can't see...they are all around, some wonderful and some not...yes, love is there too. A beautiful poem, full of thought, as you are. |

"I turn from the sea and look into the air in my need to be weightless and free for air, like love, unseen has the power to uplift the burdens from spirit and flesh. The air of love; how softly it blows to make me believe it’s not even here!" Helen, this is a gorgeous write. I hear your heart. The change is brought about by the intensity of this kind of love. I don't know quite how to explain it; love so encompassing that it holds our soul tests the validity of who we are and brings about growth and change; whether we get to keep that love or not, who knows. The important thing is that it has been gifted or that we gifted. There are reasons for everything. Keep the faith. ....jo |
