Just a thought The gray of haze has overwhelmed The sun It has muted the blue of the Evening sky Where fertile soil once was home Now lays rest to those that die Power lusts in human need Causing suffering and pain Willing in that pain Can be bonding Giving way to greater gain So again we ask the question Can there be a better way Then to know such mournful anguish As we bow our heads and pray c2004simplygold |

"Power lusts in human need Causing suffering and pain Willing in that pain Can be bonding Giving way to greater gain" This does seem to be the truth sometimes. On the other hand does human need lust power? Much to ponder here and thanks for the read. Happy 4th! |

EA, Tequilla, Enchantress, Miscellanea Thank you and have a wonderful 4th. Iliana, I think we as humans lust many things and to different degrees. Power to control seems to be a basic struggle that when relinquished into the wrong hands gets abused. With power comes responsibility, we cannot expect others to be as vigilant as we when it comes to taking care of ourselves and our business. Each of us must take control when necessary in order to keep the balance. Of course, it is always much harder to take back the control of power once you have given it away. Therefore, we must be ever so careful to not let those to whom the power is given to become arrogant with it. We have a responsibilty from time to time to reclaim that which the powerful among us have taken for granted. I guess I meant to say that there are those whose lust is stronger and given them the power causes dire consequences but if we are willing, with open minds, we can learn from the pain it causes. Sorry, I ramble on. Thank you, I almost changed it from need to greed. But that was not quite right. Any better suggestion? Best to you, Iiana you got me going? |

SimplyGold, I enjoyed the discourse. I guess I was thinking of cases like in third world countries were poverty breeds need and wondering if that kind of need didn't breed a certain kind of power lust in some people. I know what you mean in your poem, though, and have certainly known in my own lifetime many who qualify for lust of power category. Now, you've got me going. It takes courage to break away from that kind of situation....each of us have had to deal with it in one way or another. We either learn how to handle people like that or we retreat into our own private worlds -- I think that is why small businesses are on the rise in this country, for examle. I won't even go into politics -- that's an obvious result of what's underneath. Well, that's all for now. Later. |

Iliana, Yes, yes I know exactly what you mean. As far as politics are concerned. I sure hope lots of people start talking about it and thinking about it. Creating the shoud of fear about talking politics allows those in power to control us. And I don't care what their stance is or whether they are Repbus or Dems. Not talking about politics, issues and goverment is not healthy for a democracy. It is when people are repressed that causes them to kill rather than discourse and work it out. SG |
