MY HOUSE OF DARKNESS

I built this house not long ago,
But now the walls are dark with gloom.
Once filled with friends, now all I know
Is isolation, my living tomb.
I hear souls cry in every room,
I reach for them, to no avail.
Ghost in Darkness I can't exhume
The dead to hear my grieving wail.

I wander the cold, murky hall
Of ever shadowed memory.
Where to the past remains my call,
A time when you remembered me.
The sacrifice I gave to thee.
The devotions held in your stead.
Walk in my house, for now I see,
You are living, I am the dead.

Such a haunting piece....
I really love the last stanza it sums many emotions up into one....

Hauntingly sad Michael, I too can relate. I have to admit when it comes to the dark you are the master!!

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there IS to celebrate.

Thanks you two, it's nice to know I'm not just talking to walls in here though I certainly feel like it sometimes...LOL I wonder what it's gonna take to get more reading and replying going on in here, that's really what was behind this poem.

I must admit to being lax in my offerings to Dark. That will change soon I hope.

The verse truly needs no comment other than to say, "Truly do you shine with Darkness my friend."
