The Shot rang out from the thicket ofleaves and blood did spout from a chest that once heaved. The corpse fell slowly, once rosy cheeked- To the ground now Holy without uttering a shriek. The life source pooled around the still boy. Who, just the day before had played with a toy. The laugher bubbles not from lips once red for he slumbers forever in his earthy bed. ------------------ "Life is like an onion, we peel it one layer at a time, and sometimes we weep." How terribly sad. The death of children always seems to be worse in a way. I don't like to imagine it even. Joy Our doubts are traitors, And make us loose the good we oft might win By fearing to attempt. ~Shakespeare |

Powerful statement; yet heard by so few. Brings back too much of my past to read again, but excellent job. |
