'Tis a sad life we live when out friends no longer care. 'Tis like a heady poison we take with our evening fare. Sip by sip we drink it till gone is every drop. Our lives ending slowly with the ticking of the clock. The clouds rol by then thunder claps the lightning creases the sky. And we watch the splendor as we slowly die. When discovered on the morrow there'll be no gasp of pain. No expression of sorrow- Only a spattering of rain. ------------------ "Life is like an onion, we peel it one layer at a time, and sometimes we weep." (Carl Sandburg) |
