I want you to take a moment And a good hard look at me There a just a few things I would like for you to see If you gaze upon my eyes You will notice that they harbour Images of a soul's demise If you search around my twisted face You will come across the remnants Of anger, fear, and hate Amorous emotions Have all seeped away My broken, bleeding heart Could not make them stay The hopes and dreams And promises you have made Have long been torn apart And placed into their grave The lies and cheating ways you'll find Still dance hauntingly Upon my weary mind You will not see my worth I've been stripped of all my joy The love I gave, you cast away Like a child's unwanted toy Now wait, Don't turn away just yet For herein lies the irony Although what you have found May appear to be defeat If you can look deeper still Then you are sure to see The slightest glimmer of hope Still inside of me My suol will once again take in Love's lifegiving breath And end it's slow retreat Into an early death My face will regain it's shape And release itself Of anger, fear, and hate My heart can be repaired The bleeding can be stopped Those amorous emotions Can return to their rightful spot The ghosts that have been daunting me Will eventually fade And my weary mind May finally come to rest And so now what I hope you see Is that you knocked me down But you have not beaten me |

Well gosh! Thank you for the wonderful reaction. I must say, it sure did feel great to get that out, even if only on paper. Or should I say screen? Anyways, thanks again. |
