A faded bleak evening
the amber still aglow
I cuddle by the fire
with a hemorrhaging soul

Groping in oblivion
to make me feel your love
something to hold on to
to convince me,all's not lost

A flicker for us to embrace
A subtle ray to declare us mates
Real enough to unmask the truth
emanating mirth on decrepit woe
Unleashing the power to configure
this disarray of antiquated grace

What I have instead,
is this searing pain
this deafening silence
this error so divine

I cuddle by the fire
holding memories close
memories, harbingers
of forth coming doom

I have to admit that I have my favorites, and though I try to read others, I rarely have the time. But your title caught me (I love oxymoronic expression) and I'm glad it did. You have a wonderful style, and I look forward to more!

Wonderful! 'This error so divine'...great phrase. You have a way with words, the rhythm is just right and it's pulled together nicely. I like it! And I look forward to more...hope not all your stuff is dark though - with the way you put words together, bet you can do just about any style for any forum!
