BLACK PEARL In the silence of emptiness, Drool dripping from my chin. A puddle wells, a sad soul dwells- Over unforgivable sin. Passing the days, a decrepit tortoise, Amongst a world of brain-stormed hares. Nailed ‘ the cross I bear the albatross- Of truth, but who truly cares? Pain shone across two eyes agloss- Fades, a hollow echo in my chest. As I wallow in life's obligations, Only longing for rest. The subconscious life, a precious black pearl. Alas, all in life I crave. All night and day to dream this life away, The only hope I save. To subtly pass unto darkness, Never again open these eyes. Or feel the scorn of sweet love torn- In a world of hopeless lies. ------------------ Michael Anderson And so, being young and dipt in folly I fell in love with melancholy, But dreams - of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned, and die: EAP |
