As the sun sets wildly upon my back a
shadow of a child falls to the ground before.
So frail and thin is this shadow,
the heart torn.
I reach down and put my hand upon it,
I feel his pain
I hold his heart
I touch his soul and know his heart.

Abandoned and ashamed,
locked in total loneliness.
Reaching down to him
my heart hurts with his.
Desperation and Humiliation
raging in his mind.
I cry with him
and for his frailty.
I understand
I cannot help him.

I stand
and dry my eyes.

I look down once again
and look upon
a shadow of a man
standing in a pool
of a lost child's tears.
