Return to eternity In violent shakes of palms you lift the mighty to the ground, Reclining head bent to rest; wish away the endless hours. Watch the living bread swirl to infinity in the lakes To endless depths and blackened thoughts We’ll burn the heretics to warm the fires. Muttering whispers raised to the deafened fool, staring wide-eyed Mouth open in awe about his surrounding. Others move on and out as the thunder rises over the garden. They twist back the hands of time To when we were serpents choking on our dust, heads fixed towards the sun glowing in memory of our loved ones. ==================================================== Urban Pavement stone tears the dragging skin. On marching shadows stare right through me. Mechanic ants locked in one way streets. Naked tones of uniform stamped: the vultures prey. Stripped of emotion that is cast as waste in a dying river. Cannot reap penance on the ancient urban stone. A crushing wall of millions forces us to walk alone. =================================================== Pestilence without prejudice The lepers shine their spots and bandage our wounds they inflicted to get inside. There they play out their Blessed Sacrament Their temple: our body. Suffering the crucifixion the skeleton is a cross to give witness to “The king of the people.” Here they are slaughtered and virus spawns In another bloody valentine. In polished mirrors peer their eyes Watching us as we stand on the inside. They pretend their roles and make them so. Down comes the plague of cleansing, Strangely in such horror we feel the same. =================================================== Terminal I hear you scream. Blind penance speaks. Drenched out in the furnace sun, Blaze our minds as we lay down beneath the desert skies. I am sullen here, trapped beneath, dampened sounds ring out in my head. Sweating still a voice murmurs nonsense quietly dazed in streams of alcohol. Routine consumption, triggered with bursts of energy. I lost myself that night, I woke to hear you scream. Blind penance speaks From a lonely place I lost myself my trail of thought. < !signature--> ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. deep deep you are my poetic genius where does one begin... all 4 are awesome... i think i like eternity and terminal best and Urban is way cool..so much imagery packed in such a few intense lines. I think that word best describes all your work--INTENSE. later Bri-gator eve ![]() I think I could need - this in my life I think I'm just scared - that I know too much I can't relate and that's a problem I'm feeling ... If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home There's an awful lot of breathing room But I can hardly move If you're gone - baby you need to come home cuz there's a little bit of something me... In everything in you. ~MB20~ "What the caterpillar calls the end ... The world calls a butterfly" ~Lao Tze Tao~ ~Butterflies are meant to be free~ |

Brian Urban "Pavement stone tears the dragging skin. On marching shadows stare right through me. Mechanic ants locked in one way streets. Naked tones of uniform stamped: the vultures prey. Stripped of emotion that is cast as waste in a dying river. Cannot reap penance on the ancient urban stone. A crushing wall of millions forces us to walk alone." Loved it. I thinks it gives a good picture of the cold and mechanic life in the city. The life we don´t really want to live, but end up living anyway... -nando- Ask me how to live your life, and this to you I´ll say: make your choises true and wise, so that when tomorrow will arise, you´ll smile at yesterday... |

Poet Devine. thanks for your kind reply. "..I have a hard enough time writing ONE poem let alone 3.... " I don't believe that for a second. These are old poems that I have stored up from about two years ago. Jan. "poetic genius" I am blushing alot. thanks but I am a fool at heart. Now intense...lol I guess I can be. I am lightening up a bit not the tortured soul I was when I wrote these little pieces of misery. Thanks for your wonderful response. nando glad you liked Urban, hope you also enjoyed other poems. I just find cities to be quite overwhelming, especially when I first moved to the city...too many people crowding pavements. It was just chaos. Thanks for reading and for your response. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. ~Brian,...I do have to say that I am enjoying reading this short poem series of yours. Ok,...Return to Eternity...brings forth thoughts of releasing a passed loved one. Then again the more I read it the more thoughts flood my mind. In any case, it's well written and vividly desriptive. Urban,...Love the "Mechanic Ants"...tis so true, if you ever just stand back and watch...it's almost insane. This poem is well depicted and an observation worth writing about. Great job. Pestilience Without Prejudice...ok this one made me think of disease (obviously) but in two ways. One as taking notice to the overwhelming and seemingly out of control problem occuring in this world. And another as society taking on the role of a fatal disease in it's actions. Heck, I may be way off ,..but it's what I got. Terminal,...thoughts of regret come to mind. Images so easily pictured due to your amazing ability to portray the scene and emotions so well. Thank you for keeping this little Short Poem series going. I am so enjoying it. You please me so,...with your writing. Thank you , thank you. *Peace. |
