Do I want to die?
Never I reply!
The land beyond, is still the great unknown,
Who knows what exists and who noted the seeds we've sown?

Is there a heaven? I like to believe there is,
I am a Christian, but sometimes the doubts still linger,
What is it like? What do we do?
Do we have a purpose, or sit on clouds all day?

It's said babies and children continue to grow,
They reach maturity as they would've in life,
It's said animals don't go to heaven,
Well I don't think that's fair no reward for them?

And if there IS a hell don't want to go there,
Fire and brimestood, loud music and pain,
Going there torture itself,
Would drive any normal soul insane!

I'd hate leaving my loved ones behind,
I'd be too impatient to see them again,
Having to wait however many years,
Till I can be with them again.

Always looking on not a part of life,
Yet perhaps rejoicing and catching up with old friends and family,
Being merely a spirit,
No physical reality.

When I die I hope to go to heaven,
I've lived my life as best I can,
But I am in no hurry to go there,
I wonder how anyone can???

We have to make our own heaven here on Earth,
Make our home a sanctuary, be loving and generous to all friends and family,
And sometimes even help those we don't know,
And only then will we reap the harvest we sowed.

So I believe don't think of death,
Just live our lives day to day,
Doing the utmost best we can do,
Life's joys will see us through.

There is one other point I forgot to make,
Death, the scariest journey we'll ever take,
I hope and pray that a loved one comes for me,
So I shall not have to journey alone.

The moment of passing and realisation,
Will undoubtedly be scary for me,
But hopefully my heavenly rewards,
Will become all that matters to me.......

JUST THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS I HAVE ABOUT DEATH, DON'T EXPECT IT TO MAKE SENSE COS EVEN THOUGH I HOLD FIRM CHRISTIAN BELIEFS THERE IS STILL THE ELEMENT OF THE UNKNOWN, AND I DON'T LIKE UNKNOWN, I LIKE TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON!!

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

~Isis,...this here was such a cool read. It's interesting to read.  I agree with and feel the same way with lots of it.  It makes as much sense as the unknown can.  I too wonder these very thoughts.  Thanks for some thought provoking poetry. *Peace.

Isis.....I think we all have some fear of the unknow, human nature perhaps!, particularly of death. I try not to worry too much about it as there are simply too many things to do now. I don't want to miss life!!

Thankyou for sharing your thoughts and feelings, they make sense to me.

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown

Glad you all liked this weird one from me.  I am not scared of death, but I certainly don't look forward to it!!!  I live each day as though it's my last, that way if any thing bad happens to anyone, I know they know my true heart and feelings and love..

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

nobody wants to die and nobody wants to live forever. If this is not some ones' quote I patent it as mine. I know death comes I just hope his timing is good.

Isis, a wonderful poem.
Personally I don't believe in hell, I think it is a state of mind. I think that part of us will die but that when we die we become part of the universe, of its energy of its very fabric. Just as we are in our earthly bodies, except we are freed of our flesh and bone constraints. That is my thoughts on the matter.
