I sat in the boat Closed my eyes. Senses assailed me. Nostrils quivering I inhaled Brisk sea air My eyes closed I listened to soft waves Slapping the side That's when I sensed him Felt him What I had come here for. Slowly, I turned Letting out my breath I opened one eye Met his steady gaze He winked And slowly drew Back into the depths Flicking his tail In silent salute. |
