On a night when mist rolled through the sky cov'ring tree and clouding ground, I wandered, all alone to cry 'til sunshine crept to wake the town. My mission on these lonely nights was simply to be left alone. Ignoring-- perhaps tempting-- frights which prowl for some unwary drone. Drone? Yes, I was a mere machine. Alone, forsaken, and forsworn! No "gladness" I had ever seen could make me feel less so forlorn. Then, this night, I came around a corner, on a chilly street and met a woman, smiling down. I quite agree with the above. Often stories in verse are really tedious, but this one has me gasping for more Uta Lotharingia "Wir wollen nicht Wert und Sinn ... wir wollen Unwert und Unsinn" Raoul Hausmann |
