Out of the silent race he stepped, Staring into the face of the abandoned one. The wind blew throughout the area, throwing the papers of a forgotten land into the faces of both the child and the man. The man from the city state looked into the child's eyes. There, he saw a fellow human. There, he saw an outcast. There, he saw what remained of the old age. "Who are you?" Asked he. Sobbing was the only sound the child could produce. As if to assist the child, the wind blew some more. It blew a foul stench into the air, alerting the man once more of his surroundings. The child could only stare into the man's eyes with tears streaming down his cheaks. The last water the child would ever consume was now on his face. But all the man could do was walk away. He wanted to see no more. Today he'd seen the truth. Tomorrow, he would forget about the child and start yet another day. The child would die, a forgotten testament to the truth, burried alive by a world hell-bent on riches. Explorer of the Fractal, Fractal007 |

God this hits the bone. great job. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |
