A soft wind blows through the graveyard caressing the flowers about one grave and petals scatter, blood red, like the life that bled from the body beneath. The distant memory of a face, blurred by time, now eternal in it’s youth, for only impressions linger, and longings for what could have, but will never be. One alone, and lonely for what has passed, lovingly lays the next bouquet upon the grave of a vanished youth, and remembers how well they fit together, way back when.... |

"the past is so beautiful the future lies a corpse in snow," sorry about the manics lyric but it popped into my head while reading your poem. I loved the images in this poem, it is quite beautiful and haunting all in the same breath. Hi Jana Its nice to have good memmories of youth. But I think we can sustain that feeling by allowing our minds to stay clean out of anxieties,tensions,lust over something etc etc. Its difficult but I think its possible. Sincerely A_L |
