The Day I Ran (the frog's testimony): And I wander alone Past a frog on a stone For me life began Not in birth Or one day in church For me: the day I ran The frog blinked at me Hopped on to a leaf Leaving me all alone After what I'd been through No idea what to do Left to survive on my own One man in the fields Adulthood reveals Yet I didn't know it then Forever affected Feeling rejected Started before I was ten So the frog has to stay As I run away From confusions I don't understand To home I can't go So they'll never know Of that day in the fields on the sand I wonder: why me? Did it just have to be Or did I do something wrong Should I have taken more care Or not have been there Try to resist, though he was strong? The memories that scar Persist, hurt and marr Forever now part of me My frog on a tray Someone dissected today That day; his testimony. |

This is marvelous.. I love the way you used the frog in your theme. And it is a sad story, if it's about you, I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Poetry is one of the ways to ease the pain in our souls... |
