Who keeps the house spotless and clean? Who feeds the entire household and wild birds as well? Who makes this house a home? A place where the pretense of happiness dwells? Who keeps the yard bearable? Who cares for it regardless of the weather? Who mows and weed eats and does many other chores? Who trims the vines when they grow too close together? Who raises this child as best she can? Imparting life's stepping stones? Who teaches him right from wrong? Who sets the tone? I run this little corner of the world, Without me it would fall apart, There'd be such a mess, no feed to eat, And you've known this from the start. To say I am irresponsible in any way at all, Is so damned unfair, To say I let any of us down, Makes you again the clown. Let's look again shall we? Who doesn't play enough? Who doesn't do his share of the load? Who isn't so manly and tough? Who focuses on the wrong, Forgetting the things that come first Who lives his life, Like an ongoing curse? It is not I!!! I do my job and so much more, I scrimp and save for months to make my son's birthday so special, I make beauty out of nothing, Gifts so little seem magical. I doubt you will ever realise, All that I achieve, So many of my friends say 'How do you manage?' They can hardly believe. So I AM responsible, much more so than you care to be, I am independant, thoughtful and generous, Something you still have to achieve, I am the glue, the foundation of this family. Responsibility is my middle name, I hope one day you can say the same........ I'll tell you this...... Isis~ Who ever said "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me" should be smaked in the kisser!! (haha) I know these words very well...having someone say something hurtful even when you know it isn't true doesn't take the sting away. You are such a wonderful lady.... keep smiling!
