Another day passes
And the night closes in
the darkness around me
lets me out holds me in

The stars up above
and the shadows close
to free a spirit
from its empty glove

I see the night
the fear without respite
of what is invisible
in absense sans light

why is it that I
alone without you
with ghosts all around
am happily in tune

the song of life
the chorus of night
the moon turns blue
can you feel the light

It bathes you
in a radiance
the sun doesnt know
no people see no flowers grow

Yet i am sanguin
in my castle so stark
because i truely am
At home in the dark

"Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil!- prophet still, if bird or devil!-
Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted-
On this home by horror haunted- tell me truly, I implore-
Is there- is there balm in Gilead?- tell me- tell me, I implore!"
Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

night's gift of dark ...
loss leaves it's mark,
quiet comfort found with in.

shadows of gray ...
some ghosts will stay,
some voices live under our skin.

day gives way ...
night comes to play,
some things are not our sins.

always know there is light ...
stars and moon belong to the night,
your path to free you from where you've been.

night knows no shame ...
dark places no blame,
letting you out ... holding you in.

you shine in the dark,
king of castle so stark...
embraced by shadows of sanguin.

take care my gentle poet of darkness

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

What is it within the darkened night that brings us out, yet still hold us within.
I just don't know? But I feel more at home there, and here.
Thanks buddy.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.
