Bitter verse inscribed Upon languished soul Purging snowflake images Tainted faintly With scarlet glanced dew. A meadow hinted emerald Trembling with dawn's gale Raped of placid reverie And whispered With an icy glare. Barren stretch of years Held in shackles of forever Echoing twisting shadows Weeping endlessly For eternities never born. Apparitions of lofty voices Linger in lifeless breath Wading through filmy memory And silently raging As loneliness entwines. *Krista Knutson* "Lonliness is the human condition." *Mark Twain, in the book "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn"* |

Hauntingly beautiful poem. I loved the imagery like "purging snowflake images" that you used. After I was told what your meaning to this was (My abstract thinking is lacking) it makes sense. Painfully and beautifully presented, much enjoyed. |

I agree with Dusk, a very haunting beautiful poem, "Barren stretch of years Held in shackles of forever Echoing twisting shadows Weeping endlessly For eternities never born." Your third stanza is very heartfelt, going deep. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |
