JUST ONE WORD

Just one word can mean so much
Just one smile, just one touch
My river of pain flows so strong
With just one shout or just one wrong
Can't you see that I hurt too
Deep inside, deeper than you

  Many times I've cried
When I've seen or when I've heard
  The love that's close behind
  Following just one kind word

Just one word can shatter my wall
Lift me up when I fall
Or like a dagger in my soul
Just one word can leave a hole
A never-ending well of pain
Made deeper again and again

  Many times I've cried
When I've seen or when I've heard
  The love that's close behind
  Following just one kind word

Just one word can lift me high
Send me soaring through the sky
Or just one word can knock me down
And leave me there to be found
Can't you see the power behind
Words of love or words unkind

  Many times I've cried
When I've seen or when I've heard
  The love that's close behind
  Following just one kind word.

Yes the words can hold us or hurt us they are a law unto themselves giving  and taking away love and hope is what they hold.

this is their power

  Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.

Yes Sylvia,
in one word we can
live or die,
laugh, or cry.

The one word
I have found above them all
isn't love,
It's "PATINENCE"
Your poem is to the heart, and from the heart, I thank you. (and your post on mine, I answered you)
Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.
