~Cold Hands~ Cold hands cradle her trying to remember to make her forget that this ride is not yet over. Sweep the hair from her eyes look at her broken face whisper to her try to remember to make her forget. Forget about the pain that runs through her veins, forget about the hate in the world, the sick children and the poor. Cold hands take her hands touching each finger one at a time, a story for each one... trying to remember to make her forget. *This poem is about trying to make a lovely woman I knew who cared so much about what was happenning in this harsh world to forget the cold things that haunted her and rest peacefully on her last few days of life. JMB...missing you. [This message has been edited by SpitFire (edited 04-30-2000).] |

As a massage therapist I volunteered time at hospice, I know all to well this ?? helping to stay this cold hand and fears, of passing on. I would usually pass on a poem like this saying too close to home, But you put it so wonderful, and heartfelt, I had to put in my two cents. Your a good heart kid, and I wish you all the best, keep writing, keep expressing, keep loving, we need you in is world. Joel I howl a mornful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |

good poem... and very sweet of you to write this for her.. she's in good hands... If all was light...then I would have never learnt the dark...from which such truth evolves from which evolves the light... Avanti Rao |

Reminds me of a home for the aged I visited near Christmas with one of my high school classes. Several of the people there, and one in particular, fit your poem to a tee. I have't though about that in a long time. Thanks for the memory, and the wonderful poem. j. |
