Another sleepless night,
you came slipping unto my back door,
like the age old milkman with the trust of all
bottles rattling my memories of your passing,
I’m feeling so small.

Before I knew,  you had slipped into my arms,
with an old familiarity of our once love
feeling you snuggle up to me bear not a stitch on,
but the red silken nightgown we loved to play  in
happy in the elation of you landing my white dove.

Smelling your perfume so vividly within my senses
as you lay your head on my chest with a sigh
of completeness as our hearts beat as one.
listening to an age old love theme
dancing in unison with our spirits like some.

Holding you so tight, very close to breaking your body
with the strength I posses trying to blend us together in spiritual sigh.
rocking an ageless tempo of passion,
entwined within this spectral plane,
over come with a sense of loss with a pondering question, why?

As your lips rise to meet mine,
my head begins to bow down to you again.
I longingly try to gaze within your eyes
hoping to catch the spirit of our union long ago,
finding the heart does lie to the spirit, a sin.

As like the pine bends to the caressing lover wind
with a haunting whisper of ageless love between the two.
liken my head bending down, the pine can only endure so much.
until nature takes over and the snapping begins like my sobs,
of lost passion and spirit does leave me on cue.

Then the forest of passion on both planes
drinks in the passing of a member and the final demise of both.
As the great pine bows for the last time to meet it’s reflection in the river
my spirit does follow to this final reflection in pain.

The night still existing as you slowly mist away
in my freighting futile pace of tears trying to hold my specter you.
You would not simply disappear in a blink like so many visitations
but taking your time in the passing, as to seep my heart undo.

Like the great pine, I can only endure so many a bowing
my heart does ache so, still smelling your essence upon my chest.
I awake to the cold night, with all the feelings of your passing
asleep an hour, and the night is young the pain is in the knowing.

-------------------------------------------------------
God I miss my White Dove so. She flies still away from me.
Why did I sign in as the wolf? because he does not howl for loss,
But for the knowing of love. And the passing of time.

Joel.

I howl a mornful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

It's so wonderful when the ones we've loved come to us in our dreams, and so heartwrenching when we wake and reality strikes as we find ourselves alone and without them. I loved reading this.
"finding the heart does lie to the spirit, a sin." and this was one of my favourite lines, so true, so painful

"Love is the only drug you can take that will convince you each time
that you've never had it before."

Joel, I am speechless, I see and feel your confusion and pain.  Here, take my hand, now and always you have a friend.. *hugs*

I don't know that there is anything I can say that has not been said, but I felt the need to say it anyway.  In the simplest terms this is beautiful.  The love expressed in this poem takes my breath away.
