A bee came and landed
On my finger
Still as stone
Rested for a moment,
Then took off,
probably for home.

I listened for the sounds
Of a working mind
But my mind wasn't working
So I went out to dine

Silverware in plastic rings
Plates shimmering
From soapy water
Long flowered, flowing dress
I had on
Made me almost trip
But I made it to the table

At home again
I starred up to the skylight
Watching as the day closed
And night swallowed it all up
Shrugging at the misfortunes
That had brought me here
I sighed and closed my eyes

The perfect life I had planned
The dreams of contenment
Vanished a long time ago
So I'm here now
Still wishing for more
For that one thing to make me happy

God only knows where I could be today
If I didn't choose the wrong path
But I still make room for
bumblebees, dining out, and skylights.

~This was so cool...but there is always time for a new path, a new beginning.  Please smile and strive for what you once wanted so badly.

Thanks, but I'm thinking of what my life might be like.  I'm still very young and don't know where I'll end up. ????

Then you have an old soul, because you talk like your 90, haha but really, there is no wrong path, just stepping stones on the creak we all cross over, some get wet some don’t, but we all cross. this is a nice poem of en-JOY-ing the simple things in life
turning to a sad point of regrets.
all in all, a great expression.
Joel.

I howl a mornful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

Joy, I can totally relate.  I don't know where I will be a decade from now, let alone a week.  But if I can "make room for bumblebees, dining out and skylights", I will be content anywhere, and everywhere.
hugs and bugs and smiles...
