A black raven
flying high over
the misty cloud
weaved in throughout
the green blanket of trees
Calm and still,
the forest softly sighs

A slight chill the air,
yet strangely comforting
and understanding
of my darkend solitude

I pull my small blanket
tighter around me,
feeling the cold, damp earth
beneath my bare feet
as I walk out into
the enchanted realm

So distant from everything,
opening it's arms to me
allowing me to rest
in this gentle sanctuary

In the hill above me, about 45min. there is a small lake, called Utica, no power boats allowed, I go at least five times a year, it has got to be the most perfect description of this.

Jaime,

I loved this one. Perhpas because I can relate... solotude is priceless for me these days.... a place to go and be along, and think. There is peace there. Or at least comfort. You bring the story from it's start to it's ending (perhaps another beginning?) splendidly. Another enjoyed read.

Whisked away into place where only solace and tranquility are soft but harsh with biting cold aginst my feet...waiting for nothing. You gave so much imagery. I loved it.
