In the space between heartbeats
the world comes to a halt
in the span of a frozen moment
cruel truth drives home the fault

in the space between heartbeats
in my mind`s photography
i see her lying there with him
in the bed she`d lain with me

in the space between heartbeats
so swift the damage wreaks
with no hope of going back
the dream is slain complete

in the space between heartbeats
her eyes she cannot show
the transformation final
she`s become someone i used to know

in the space between heartbeats
this drama ages hence
has left it`s mark on me
and i haven`t been the same since
