I feel the things others won't
I feel the things others cannot bare
An outlet of emotions
Keeper of the key
Master of the house
Long to tell them
of the burden I carry for them
The secrets I craddle and hold for them
Quiet
All for them

Who will carry me?

The words that come to me here fail me elsewhere.
Mute.
Made dumb by my own thoughts.
Tonguetied and awkward.
Tripping over my own voice.
A pen and paper for my voice.

Helena, this rung to close to home for me, like you, I help all I can, but secretly worry when my time comes who will be there for me.  Really there I mean?  But for Karma's sake I give my all to those who need me, and hope that at least a few are there when I need them.
In the past I have needed someone and no one was interested, the lesson I learned?  Choose friends more carefully.
Thanks for posting this, I really appreciate knowing I am not alone in this thinking.

I too know how it feels to be the stone that everyone stands on...and i agree with Isis that we should chose the people that are going to be around us more carefully...but i have also learned that there arent too many people that can handle what we bare. Thank you for sharing. *HUG*

take care

ah us honorable co-dependents.  we always come thru, don't we.  and if we should finally realize what the hell we are doing, then it's only pain watching what they swear we have done to them.  what a cycle.  i can't carry you, but i'll walk beside you.

My back is broad, I lift hundreds of pounds a day, and thousands of lb.. a week. You can jump on kid and I mean that.

It is not very often that you read something that can hit home directly.  When someone else's words make things clearer for yourself.  Thanks for giving me a better understanding, and letting me know that I'm not the only one trying to save everyone I know.
