Another dark day,
The same old nothing really,
Nothing new,
Nothing to look forward to.

So I'll have my music,
Escape to my own little plateau,
Singing songs I love,
It pushes back the shadows.

The music for company,
The minor notes for thrills,
This is so much better,
Than letting my soul feel chills.

My music and I will have an affair,
It loves me beautifully and true,
The melodies almost whisper,
'I am always here for you!.

So I'll sing songs of love,
Songs of love gone bad,
Songs of anger and happiness,
Then perhaps I won't feel so sad.

A heart and soul are not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others...

your conection with music is shared. Hard not to lose yourself in melody. Great piece!

The words that come to me here fail me elsewhere.
Mute.
Made dumb by my own thoughts.
Tonguetied and awkward.
Tripping over my own voice.
A pen and paper for my voice.

Sing out my friend with all your heart... let the melodies carry you away to that place. . . and help you find that which we all seek. . .happiness. . .

Isis, music does have that power doesn't it?

I breathe music...
and i loved this one...

If all was light...then I would have never learnt the dark...from which such truth evolves
from which evolves the light...

Right on Isis ,
If thats what it takes let the music take you,so many great memories from my past are closey tied to music and i cherish each one.
Just like the RHCP said "Music is my aeroplane"...it`s always there for you and it`s always a friend.

Peace

It seem like always I'm late for dinner. hahah. God what would we do without the rhythmic poetic heart soaring soul pounding music. God.
Well I know that the trees, the wind, the sky, and you, you sing to us also, with a vibrant song of life.
love ya kid.
Joel. (Dad) hahahahaha.
xoxo.

I howl a mornful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

beautiful isis...Id pay money to hear you sing
I think we poets have a love for music that runs deep as it satisfies our need for lyric and verse...and inspires us.
When ever I have the stereo on...I have to grab my journal cause all these lines for poems come in my head.
I love when that happens *smile*
take care my sweet song bird,
jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Isis, I completely relate to this poem, like you, I too turn to music to lift my spirits, to escape pain.  Your poem is beautifully written, just perfect.  It's almost like you wrote this poem for me in a sense.  I always love reading your poems, almost everytime I can relate or understand how you are feeling and what you are expressing. That makes you an excellent poet when you can make the reader relate or understand somehow.

Take care,

Thanks everyone, music calms the savage beast.
Joel (Dad) you always have such a quick wit.
If anyone truly wanted to hear me sing, Sven and Balladeer both have tapes of me, perhaps they could copy them for you??
