When I'm apart from you, my heart starts to break. When I awake from my dreams of you, my heart starts to break. I've given my heart to you, Will you ever love me back? I've given my life to you, Will you ever give it back? Now I've realized that we're only friends, But it hurts so much. You've told me that you'll be my friend til the end, But it still hurts so much. You'll never love me the way I love you, Because we're only friends. You'll never care for me the way I care for you, Because we're only friends. And it hurts me so, so much. Love is our greatest weakness but when it's found, it's our greatest strength. |

I don't totally understand why it takes us so long to figure out that the other person only wants to be friends...I suppose the stronger the desire to want more from them the less likely we are to embrace the truth. Nothing wrong with being friends if thats what both want...but if one wants more than the other...look out heart. Oh yeah..it only took me about five years to figure out someone only wanted to be friends. James |

yes, it is a most painful piece to read, and what is more painful is when you want to return to a friendship and you find that you did not even have that. it takes courage to write words like this. Kathleen |

I too have been in this boat, believe me! My philosophy on it, at least you CAN love them as a friend, a little is better than none at all. It hurts but it does work out eventually... *hugs* P.S. I think everyone has been in this boat. It SUCKs it really does, so painful and hurting...but it'll get better and fade in time |
