~Toxic~ One look -- Such rage! Scared, frightened For it's silent -- Alone I see. Raging eyes! My youth -- Memories repressed Resurface in his eyes. Hidden fear -- Again, I feel. Scared. Not words! Not silence! Please lash out! Physically! Violently! Words -- Stinging, Piercing, Wounding, Killing. Spirit dead. Eyes of rage -- Remain not silent. What to expect? How to react? Speak! Act! Scared. Unprepared. Frightened -- Running! Unable to Fight -- Know not what I fight. Rage! Hidden. Buried. Deep. Silent Dragon. Dormant volcano. Fire of words. Scarred. |

thanks everyone for your replies! yes, this is a different kind of poem for me b/c i'm not usually this dark but there are times when the thoughts just tumble onto the page. i think the reason that the words seem to hit you as you read is b/c that's how it was written...all of the sudden the thoughts just started coming and i had to grab paper and pen quick in order to catch them! so yeah...welcome to the dark side (insert heavy Darth Vader breathing here)! Love to you all!!! |

Vivid imagery here, Aiden. Loved it. I could see the eyes of rage, I could almost feel the tremor of the "sleeping" volcano at the end. Well done. Michael |
