I liken my emotions to a ship,
Sailing an ever changing sea,
I endure it all, the tempest, the calm,
I liken it to the beauty within me.

But lately my ship is sailing,
On a horrendous, unrelenting sea,
Rough weather surrounds my ship,
I'm floundering can't you see?

I hit a fabled iceberg,
The iceberg so dark and menacing,
It's punching holes all through my soul,
Now the S.S. Heart and Soul is sinking.

You are the iceberg, bringer of tragedy,
You saw my weakness then attacked,
Now I'm sinking into oblivion,
There is nothing that can hold me back.

Just like the Titanic I'm exiting,
Slowly going under a cold, dark sea,
Precious memories like deck litter,
To remind the passer by that I've been..

My dreams, poems, songs and love,
All that's left behind,
One day someone may find them,
What will they think of my brief time?

A fossil from the past,
Made weak and poor from neglect,
But the SS Heart and Soul is now too far gone,
She is just another hulking wreck.....

There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self...

How many times has this happen to myself. Isis, your works are beyond words, they fail when trying to tell you how great they are. Keep writing, it'll always be there..

Isis, it certainly doesn't sound like you're sailing on the sea of tranquility. You did an excellent job likening your life to a ship in distress. I'm just sorry if it happens to be the case. Big hugs your way...

Nice writing Isis..when I first read this I thought about the titanic sailing full speed and they were not aware of the fate awaiting them...namely that monster iceburg...so they could not prepare....but I see that your eyes are fully open and you are aware of the dangers lurking and you are ready for change.. hopefully the sailing will be smoother in your future. James
