I spent years trying to break through that wall
With each hammer swing, I gave it my all
With each brick broken, another seemed to take its place
Laughing at me, while the sweat clouded my face.

I continued to swing, sometimes by sheer strength of will
But the wall would not break, it continued to stand still
And in my heart, I knew that I could break through
Break through to the treasure lost, the treasure of you.

Then the day came where only one brick remained
I picked up the hammer, my face showing the strain
With the hammer's final swing, the wall fell
It was the last beat of my heart, ending my life as well.

Sven this is so sadly tragic to stick with something for so long only for it to forever to be lost *sniff sniff* Great job

so much emotion in this Sven...
we do put walls up around ourselves...
but sometimes they close in on us...
great writing of your thoughts here.
take care, jm

 and you can say baby...
baby can I hold you tonight
maybe if told you the right words...
at the right time,
you'd be mine...
baby can I hold you tonight...

so sad, to think that the walls come up so quickly and it takes a life-time to tear them down only to find death on the other side.

GREAT POEM IT TOUCHED MY SOUL

take care,
