I can feel the earth shake And groan beneath me As crumb by crumb My world falls apart At my feet A fire ravages my mind Incinerating every thought Every memory that dares Flutter by I try to put the fire out But it only grows stronger With my weak attempts I struggle in vain The flames burn deep With hatred and vengance Unimaginable, uncontorllable Burning until all that remains Are charred bits of my soul Tears burn a familiar trail Down my face I stare at the ashes wondering Why I even bother to try And my life goes up in smoke Surely someone must have Felt the intense heat Heard my world crashing To the ground I look around Everyone is oblivious Their own worlds still spinning Neatly on it's axis And I wonder... Should I shift through the ashes Try to put the pieces Back togather again Would anyone even care Or notice Why do I even bother Knowing all it takes Is one little spark The wind of confusion And the fire is Crackling and blazing Again ~*Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear*~ |

wow! the imagery you use is fantastic and gripping! i know the feeling, too. how you seem to go unnoticed and everyone else's lives seem to be perfect. it's good to know that no one is perfect though sometimes it's hard to convince the heart of what the mind knows as truth... wonderful piece.  ) |

This was wonderful Starr...a very beautiful poem from the very beginning to the very end. I know exactly what you mean by this poem...because I have thought like this before more often than I can remember. But someone will always notice...it just takes a very strong and special person to act. Real people like you are a rare breed...so keep up the fight...you're needed in this world.
