Before we get all carried away and say things we don't mean Can we just talk for awhile, we're supposed to be a team Whatever happened to working problems out It seems to have been replaced with a yell, a scream, a shout Our love is slowly dying, I see it fading away So can we just talk... give me a reason to stay -- No, it's too late for that, I see it in your eyes We've done hurt each other too much, lived too many lies So afraid of failing we must have looked the other way And now we do not talk for days upon days I could say I'm sorry, but that would be a lie- I'm not We have some great memories that will never be forgot -- I cannot point fingers I know we both were to blame And even if we were to start over things would never be the same So can we just talk for awhile thisis not how I want it to end I want to walk away still calling you a friend I never meant to hurt you, I hope you believe thats true And no matter what happens, I'll still care for you -- I don't want to leave like this with strings left untied Just for a moment lets put away our foolish pride Goodbye is the hardest thing I'll ever have to say But we both know we can't go on living this way So talk to me this one last time and then I'll leave you alone And I'll try not to cry as I say goodbye to the only love I've ever known ~*Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear*~ |

EEks - tough spot. I hope the goodbye was to her alone and not to the entire world - that "Not go on Living this way" line snet me pondering. Great poem...can relate only too well. Michael |
