Arrogance leads to a certain kind of ignorance
When we fashion lies to mask the hate
Which broods inside and belches forth
At every opportunity that presents itself

All the pain that remains can be eased,
All the tears can be wiped from tired eyes
With a single blow called compassion,
Stronger than any man-made device

Then we all fall into the sea called humanity
Like raindrops from clouds silver lined,
As it was before we awoke civilized
And realized that reality obscures the dream

What has gone on too long
Is the way it shall always be
Cease the thoughts you knowingly waste,
And get on getting through today

These eyes fix upon those wise
But this mind reverts to a time
When the world was a wonder to behold,
And before the innocence of a child was betrayed

These hands open to reveal their plans
To strike out at some alien object,
To drive it away from what is real
Instead of embracing with this heart;

And then we begin again
To ponder the trail leading us
Through the darkening woods,
To some sort of clearing

Where all alone sits a stone
Blood dripping fresh as if it were alive
And chiseled amidst the glistening gore:
“Nothing gained”; and then,

Nothing more

As it was... obscures the dream.
I loved these lines. This flowed, and held much meaning.

I've caused you such pain
that I damn that word."

Hard to describe my feelings for this one, like you see life's horror and your writing is that of a bard or prophet (sort of) Bravo JML!!

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

this is EXCELLENT jer, SO well written and thought provoking... a serious reality check for mankind...once again your depth amazes me.

When you see through love's illusions, there lies the danger...
And your perfect lover just looks like a perfect fool
So you go running off in search of a perfect stranger
While the loneliness seems to spring from your life
Like a fountain from a pool.

This is me blushing. LOL
Thank you Isis, this was from a period of observing and writing. If i was a prophet, i would play the lottery.
Janet, i don't know about depth, this might have come from boredom, being young and impressionable.
