An innocent child was killed today
Because a 7 year old boy had a gun
He took it to school completely unseen,
He can't begin to know what he's done.

Where could he have gotten it?
Who saw this boy leave for school?
Was there no one around as he went on his way?
Did he know he was breaking a rule?

Children...killing...children??
This world has gone insane
Each time we hear it, it's worse than before
I just pray - we won't hear it again.

I'm sure God is weeping sorrowfully tonight
For a world that has gone mad
The children have lost their innocence
And for that we should all feel sad.

beautiful poem about a terrible tradgedy...you voice all of our pain with this one...I wish I knew the answer of why ... these things that seem to have become day to day reality...very sad.

You're going to hear my voice in the morning calling your name
And know my love and my desperation were one and the same...
Baby it's alright...
Take this pain and all this sadness
It's alright
Take this rain
You're going to be free...

As a future teacher, it scares me to think of what might happen in my classroom.  Thing is how do you prevent it?  No one knows the answer to that.  It just seems to keep happening and we all stand by and shake our heads but no one does anything about it.  We are our own worse enemy.

Janet Marie & Blueyz - If we all only knew what to do, I just hope we don't become immune to it....Somehow, someday, the tragedy has to stop.

Sad and angry!!  In Australia we have a no gun lobby that was only brought in a couple of years ago.  Only farmers, bushman and professional shooters may have guns.  No ordinary Joe can.
It is time America does the same, how many more life's are to be lost?  I know your constitution says you all have the right to carry arms, but hell that was 200 years ago, the world has turned.
I hope I sincerely hope something can be done to stop the insanity.
Great poem btw

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

beautiful poem about a terrible tragedy.  i had an uncle killed by an underage friend with a shotgun, and i wish people would just pay attention to their kids.  im sure if someone had paid attention to this kid this may not have happened.  we have to do all we can as parents to make sure our children know whats right and wrong and this was definitely wrong.  i think its sad that this child didnt get that picture.  im scared for my 1 year old to ever to go school, i hope things change.  thanks for sharing that.
