TEN THOUSAND EYES How can love, itself, stand beyond desire? Do they not hold each other hand in hand? Why wouldst thou worship me, I'm no one's sire - Being cursed to blindness where I stand. Still, everyday, I face ten thousand eyes, All decorated with expectancy. But you can't even see how blindness cries, For it is you who wished this unto me. My bloody wrists donning ageless shackles, All I feel is the cold metal of chain. Falling before me in voiceless cackles - The would be Loves who couldn't see my pain. Dreams etched in crystal, a face wrought in stone. Micheal...this one made me cry..no, that's not bad..I haven't been able to do that in a long time. This is truly my favorite of all that I have read of yours...I'm sure there are lot's that I have missed :~( PS. Thanks for liking my sonnets most of my critics say I should focus elsewhere. Most do not like sonnets in this day and time. Thanks....Jenny |
