I see the face
I crave tonight
Dreams are spilt
But I still fight

I close my eyes
Imagaine I see
My hopes...
That were stripped from me

Once again
I shut the door
Crawl into my bed of guilt
That I don't want anymore

The task
Is so much harder now
I need your presence...
Here somehow

Fear of absence
Impossible to show
Depression seeping
Into my soul

The tattered letter
Shaking in my hand
Weeping softly...
All that I can

Tasting the salt
Which memories withold
Changing fear into faith...
And Facing The Cold

Changing fear into faith can be a grievious and  sometimes impossible task.  I can relate well to these words.  Especially the salt... Can be bitter at times, no?

kari,
this is a beautiful poem so full of emotion and expression...very well written. sweetly sad and honest. very nice work
take care, janet marie

 In the time we've known
That we each are a part of one another
We've lost as much as we have won...
And as our lives have grown
We have found that it only brings us pain
To hang on to the things that we have done...
***Still I love the times you've come***

Kari,
The last two verses really got me!  I could see the letter in your shaky hand and your want to move to faith.

Old time is still a-flying,
And this same flower that smiles today
To-morrow will be dying.
