Purgatorial Incarceration

Rain falling
    coming down
   each crystal drop
          a dream
dashed    into    the    ground
     darkened clouds
   overheadoverheadoverhead
      smother my heart
   squeezing tears
from life-dulled eyes
    to match the
            clip-clip
      cadence
of hopes
    saturated
   by memories
of
   pain

This fits my mood perfectly..now if I had some of that rain it would top off the night!

How do you write these perfect poems!?

This is both a piece of excellent poetry and a visual work of art.  Amazing -- the last 7 lines drew me along well into the "raindrop effect."

--Me

Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

 In the time we've known
That we each are a part of one another
We've lost as much as we have won...
And as our lives have grown
We have found that it only brings us pain
To hang on to the things that we have done...
***Still I love the times you've come***

It rains loud and heavy for you my friend - and I am drowning in the droughts of solitude and eerie silence.  Still, I think we very much are feeling the same tonight.  Thoughts very well spoken.
