~Love's Fine Line~ You never knew the difference, and you could never see... Love walks a fine line- Between charity and chastity. My emotions remain unrequited, You reasons cover me with lies. Mendacious is your nature, No apologies, only mendicant alibis. You seem immune to my desperation... While I stand here, my heart on display. Once enchanted by your presence- Now those desires are lost to dismay. You never knew the difference, and you could never see... Love walks a fine line- between despair and destiny Janet Marie ..."when you walked into the room...I saw their faces--- did you know--you made it seem like time was standing still... and I felt---fascination...though I only knew you then--just casually... then you slowly turned and smiled in my direction... and my heart gave me away".... I like it. I enjoyed reading it. Love does walk a fine line, yet I never have thought of it that way. "Dreams are not a reality, no matter how much we wish"-TanAngel |

so very true......a line so fine it is often hard to see and easily overstepped. a great piece. Something has to change. An undeniable dilemma. But I am not a burden anyone should bear. -Tool- |

I enjoyed the parallel between the first and last stanzas, as well as the "despair and destiny." Great line. Jannel "I'm just saying that we've mistaken one for thousands of words, and for that mistake I've caused you such pain that I damn that word." -10000 Maniacs "Jezebel" |

Janet...those were such true words... love indeed walks a thin line between despair and destiny...and that desperation that one gets immune to...ouch!!! That treatment as hurt us all huh?? very well written...i liked it a lot!!! you don't have to understand completely..to love completely... remember even the darkest night has a morning to meet...you'll understand someday..Avanti Rao |

Very interesting Janet. I think as you that we are all to quick to judge love and say it doesn't work or it doesn't exist and yet love is not failing us we are failing love. We should never lose sight of the need to appreciate and respect love. James |

thanks SO much to all of you for the very encouraging words ...the support here is amazing...BOJO...you made me laugh...and blush...thank you...I've been called alot of things...but an angel...I'll try hard to live up to that one(SMILE)...thanks for the compliments... most times I am too close to my poems to be objective or judge them...but I have to admit...I was proud of this one when I finished it...which is nice, for a change...I was determined to use charity and chastity and mendacious and mendacant in a poem... I loved their poetic sound...take care, janet marie ...found your heart-then lost your lover...licked your wounds then run for cover... take your time...there will be another... and dont make the same mistake twice... unless you can pay the price...
