I never had a title for this one, but I wrote it when I learned I had Attention Deficit Disorder. ... -- A tremulous moaning from the strained synapses; The skittering blips, continuity lapses... ...should I start to clean this? Is it a mess? or should I thank the stars above that I've been so blessed? There’s little that’s good about such energy if you can’t find a way to use it productively My mind’s a crystal glass at best: sparkling, lucid, a lovely prize- At its worst, it's like a foreign body that’s lodged itself into my eyes; a deck stacked against me in every test, the basket over the light I’ve come to despise... This clock is ticking, this candle is flickering, saying get control of the reins before past the prime: For I want just a chance to reveal the mind; and not burn it out before my time 1/97 |

This is a gripping poem, Buzzy, I absolutely love the third stanza: My mind’s a crystal glass at best: sparkling, lucid, a lovely prize- At its worst, it's like a foreign body that’s lodged itself into my eyes; Truly wonderful work. ------------------ Michael Anderson And so, being young and dipt in folly I fell in love with melancholy, But dreams - of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned, and die: EAP |
