The looking glass It played a song The one of silent waters flowing Dripping honey suckle dew Down locks of golden sun The patch of thorns Covering the sun Scratched the friendly sky And tore a gash through this world Opening another hiding so close by Stepping through into the hole The birds no longer sang The looking glass song No longer played Music box melody contained A humming of measures drasticly not pure Poured out from the midnight black surrondings all around Bringing down, down, down Spirals to the abbis Lost in a world hidden beneath Earth in its wild array Making the one who wished to flee Wish he would have stayed No fire ringlets encircled No flames of burning dead Only the constant humming And the freezing cold of lonliness Soon the light though, peaked through a crack From the other side Showing a way back to the path Beckoning back to the world left behind A will that was only ten feet deep In the soul Was all it took To find a way back to the song of the silent Waters of the Looking glass *Joy* |
