DEATH OF MY SOUL I stand in my room and look in the mirror Only to find that my future is clearer No longer will I need to revere her Because of my heart that she stole A future alone is how it will be With no one to comfort or console me No visions of love for my eyes to see Or beauty to capture my soul I sit here alone not a tear in my eye For I no longer have the emotions to cry What was it that caused me to lay down and die To give up and loose all control I think of the years and the pain that I've felt And all of the heart ache to me life has dealt These are the factors that caused me to melt Bringing forth the death of my soul No longer will I love or live No longer do I have anything to give This heartless cruel world in which I now live Has beaten me down and taken it's toll I sit down and write this for you all to see What now in the end is becoming of me A shell of a man is all I will be Because of the death of my soul G.A. Welcome again GA! What a sad but wonderful first posting. My soul died to hon, but with strength, courage and hope and LOVE it will be reborn anew. Embrace the good in your life, the offered love of family, friends or even pets. You are not truly alone. If you need to talk feel free to email me. HUGS Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely. ~Isis~ (Sovereign of the Spirit) |

G.A.: i know where you're coming from... i used to wonder if i even HAD a soul anymore... but Isis is right -- the resurrection of the soul is just a matter of time and of love... you'll learn to love again, and love will find you if you wait on it... sincerely, jerome the boy with no brain A savage place! as holy and enchanted As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted By woman wailing for her demon-lover! ~Coleridge |

GAW, You've got to get back out there and find her. Don't hibernate and wait, you'll miss out on her. This was not the one. |

Im curious g.a., was the death of the soul as told in this poem caused by a love lost, or was it the pain felt in everyday life. God knows either one would make me feel as though my soul were dead There is a dream inside a dream. I'm wide awake the more I sleep. You'll understand when I'm dead - B. Warner |

Welcome to the dark passions!! I can relate to this one in many ways.. I have to agree with what Isis said too. I have a saying "If it was meant to be it will happen, but for it to happen you have to try" I think it fits... You need to try again and just get back out there! Great first submission I hope to see more......Bojopy "Write down what you say if what you say is not written down" (Bojopy) |

I relate to this one well. In fact i have one that is like it in ways. A matter like this is what started my writing. Although i can not tell you the hurt stops, life goes on. You just need to find something else to care about. It never replaces but helps baerlon |

I did enjoy the flow of this poem very much, and I know the feeling of such despair, but please don't give up hope! As said before, don't let your soul die, give it life and it will be reborn again! JOY |

Like everyone I too feel as though my soul has died sometimes. If we focus on the good and become happy with our better things we can find our soul again. It hasn't died just taken a vacation. |

Thank you all for your support, it means a lot to me. I actually wrote this a little more than a year ago and although the feelings of lonelyness remain with me I've learned to accept life for what it is and to just take things one day at a time. Thank you all again. G |
