Careless words tear the flesh of memory
Paper thin promises echo deeply dark
Visions of razor shards etched by shaking hands
Into narrow tracings of scarlet following silver
Chilling fingers force a fetal curl
Faded time festers in remembered wounds
Rosy spectacles shatter into unsuspecting eyes
Clearer focus views only pain

Curiosity did not pry open this gift
Hatefulness forced the lid from within
And invited his friends to play
Games of destruction madness greed

Retained, a single drop of hope
Lock it tight, Pandora,
Hold it safe for me

Well done, so true,I enjoyed this.  Guard the hope like the precious jewel it is!

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.

Great piece..
How true...careless words can be forgiven but never forgotten

did you know--you made it seem like time was standing still...
and I felt---fascination...though I only knew you then--just casually...
then you slowly turned and smiled in my direction...
and my heart gave me away"....

I love the story of Pandora, and you captured the essence of the story beautifully.  Thankyou for sharing this work, it is exquisite.
