Mommy Hold me now
You did not hold me then
You encouraged
I did not want it
But you did
You did not help
Do I tell you
The Problems
My Fear
Guilt
Shame
Terror
The emptiness
Most of all the hurt
No one was with me
I was alone
Without you mommy
I was scared
Later when I cried
You said I was weird
So alone I wept
And went to sleep
I loved her as you say you love me
I grieve
I cannot forget
Impossible to try

So sad this, could you explain who the little girl lost?  Her sister perhaps?

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.

How deeply sad. I believe that some of the best poetry disturbs us and makes us want to act. I wanted to pick up this lost soul and hold them and show them how they should have been loved to begin with. Beautiful and moving.

Aw this was so sad.  I feel so lucky and somwhat ashamed that I have such great parents.  I should not ever feel this way but I do somtimes.

Thank you all for your thoughts...I love the way my poetry is soooo open to interpretation!!

Well, let me help you a bit!!  This is me talking to my mom as an adult but from a childlike standpoint!!  She encouraged me to give part of me up!!  I hope that helps!!

Yes, Justbleu, very sad....and very well stated....a real heartbreaker...
Sending warm, motherly {{hugs}} your way...

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!
